The Civil War Signal Corps Web Site!
Our organization represents both the United States Signal corps
(Department of West Virginia) and the Confederate Signal Corps
(Northern Virginia Detachment).
We are a family oriented historical re-enacting unit whose members portray
soldiers and agents of the United States and Confederate Signal Corps and the
Confederate States Secret Service during the War Between the States.
Our members come from diverse backgrounds, but all share a common interest in
American history. Though headquarters are in Frederick, Maryland, our members
live in various states.
The unit's primary purpose is to perform military communications as it was
actually done during the war. We will, however, fight as infantry or cavalry
as the situation may require, since all signalmen were trained in other branches
of the service.
